Client Brief:
The client had a brief to fit Dale Alcock Homes, Celebration Homes, Home Starters and Resolve Finance all into the one self contained office building. In addition to this there had to be room for each company’s product display areas.
There was also a requirement for a Stage One and future expansion in Stage Two.
Design Solution:
All the above requirements for space and integrating the separate companies into the one building were met. Their resources and spaces are integrated over two levels with a third mezzanine level also used as office space for Resolve Finance and general storage.
Only Stage One has been constructed to date, Stage Two is still planned to be constructed at some stage in the near future.
In addition to the client’s space and logistical requirements there were many local council requirements for the project. A Structure Plan existed for the prominent site on which the building is located in Bunbury. The Structure Plan heavily influenced the external appearance of the building in terms of the pitched roof and material selections. Ultimately the Structure Plan suited Meyer Shircore’s design process, due to the location of the building in a residential area a pitched roof was always intended for the office building.
Feature panels of Donnybrook Sandstone, Colourback glass, metallic Colorbond, charcoal and off white paint finishes completed the exterior of the building and contribute to its landmark building status.
Internally warm brown tiles, carpet and feature wall colours were complemented by glazed partition walls and a light, open and fully glazed main staircase. All these warm contemporary finishes contributed to the finished product of a modern office for a group of progressive companies.
