Client Brief:

The client had a requirement to construct a large factory/warehouse with an attached administration and office area. It was important that B-Double road transports had easy access to the factory/warehouse. The development was to be the first building in a new commercial subdivision in which the client had an invested interest. Therefore the building was to act as a landmark, easily recognisable building for the entire future subdivision.

Explanation of Client Brief and the Design Solution:

The basic requirements of the client were easily met, as the site was located on a corner. The building was orientated so that the B-Double road transports accessing the warehouse could easily do so from the main road past the development, Truginina Road. The office administration area was located right on the corner of the site, allowing it to act as a landmark statement, giving high visibility and also creating an easily accessed street frontage to visitors. Locating the office in this portion of the site also allowed the office to be at a level much higher than the level of the warehouse/factory floor. This allowed easy supervision of the warehouse/factory from the office area. 

Louvred and curved windows and high feature signage piers aided in the creation of a landmark structure. Metallic Colorbond sheeting at an eccentric angle and rich, deeply coloured feature panels also finished the building and gave it a strong presence on the corner site.
