Client Brief:
The client’s brief was to develop an existing warehouse and provide office space of approximately 4000m2 and new warehouse facilities of approximately 18000m2.
There was also a requirement for a Stage One and future expansion in Stage Two.
Design Solution:
The requirements for the warehouse and office were met in terms of its operating procedures and systems. Both were purpose designed for the operations of the Coventry Group. Only Stage One has been constructed to date with Stage Two anticipated to be constructed in the near future.
The main entry to the building is flanked by a large blue signage wall to the left and a red Alucobond pier to the right. Dark grey, silver and white were selected for the base colour palette to complement the company’s corporate colours. Dark grey is used on the Alucobond awnings to the entry, and also on the Colorbond Longspan cladding to the warehouse behind.
Anodised aluminium horizontal sun louvers over the windows to the north provide sun-shading as well as highlighting the horizontal elements of the design. The use of grey tinted glazing not only reduces the amount of solar heat transferred into the building, but also coordinates with the colour palette.
The internal fitout of the offices was completed by others.
