Healthlands Fitness Centre

The client brief for the project was to design a Family Fitness Centre over two storeys that followed their Generic Guidelines. The client has over 80 centres worldwide and were very particular in the building design, ergonomic functions and type of finish.

It was very important that when prospective Health Club Members came to look at the facility they received an exciting experience.

The following needed to be achieved:

1. The swimming pool needed to be visible from Albany Highway.

2. Upon entering the building the swimming pool, members lounge and reception had to have a significant impact. Furthermore a Cardio Vascular Section near the front door was needed to add a "little bit of sweat" for prospective clients.

3. The main gym floor was also required to overlook the pool area. The pool was to be a major part of the design.

Overall the final design reflected all the clients needs and design criteria.

Furthermore this building recently won "The Master Builders Associates Design Excellence Awards 2001" for Category 3 "Concrete Tilt Constructions".
